Alternative treatment on the rise

Alternativ behandling I vækst

Acupuncture, reflexology – and the wise woman – are increasingly becoming part of the range of treatments that Danes seek to be cured of their ailments, Politiken writes.

Since 1994, the number of people using alternative treatments has risen from 14 to just over 20 percent, according to a new study of almost 17,000 Danes from the National Institute of Public Health.

This increasing demand is now impacting the government's policy. Minister of Health Lars Løkke Rasmussen (V) has already begun negotiations with the health spokespersons of the Folketing on allocating a double-digit amount for the documentation of alternative treatment methods.
