“Imbalance Patterns and Diagnoses”
In TCM, imbalance patterns are diagnosed according to the patient's symptoms, tongue, pulse, etc. Symptoms are analyzed based on their Yin-Yang, external-internal, cold-heat, and excess-deficiency characteristics, as well as their anatomical and meridian location.
"Because they are different diagnoses, different treatment methods must naturally be chosen."
The Impact of Heat and Cold on Symptoms
For example, a constipation patient can be diagnosed with various TCM imbalance patterns:
Heat: dry stools, fever, intense thirst with a desire for cold drinks, red face, heavy sweating, restlessness, irritability, dry yellowish coating, strong and rapid pulse
Cold: acute constipation, stools are not dry, cramps or biting pains in the intestines, chills, cold arms and legs, cold abdomen, pale face, edema, white and moist coating, slow and tense pulse, etc.
Connection between Diagnosis and Treatment
Because they are different diagnoses, different treatment methods must naturally be chosen.
LI11, ST25, and ST44 are used to treat the hot type, and CV6, ST25, ST37 are warmed with moxibustion to treat the cold type.
