Smoking: One of the known treatment methods for smoking
Is done with the help of acupuncture - more specifically ear acupuncture (auriculotherapy).
Why does it work for some acupuncturists and not for others?
There are 3 reasons when using auriculotherapy and not body acupuncture. The most important thing is that the patient must not have smoked on the same day the patient comes for treatment. The "Oprin" point cannot be found if the patient has smoked. The points must be found with an agiscop D or agiscop DT. Permanent needles or brand press needles must be used.
The points found are:
1. Oprin
2. Lung
3. Acth
The points form a triangle. The needles can be stimulated with the magnet on the ASP permanent needle probe. It is not uncommon for patients to need to come back 1-3 times.
Unfortunately, a number of smokers relapse within the first 2 years. A French study shows that 85% quit after 2 months. But after 2 years, only 30% have quit. But it is still quite impressive compared to all other methods. This is not your fault but the patient's own.
Agree with the patient that you will see the patient in 1-2 years.
