Acupuncture and Disease Treatment: Volume 2

More than 20 years ago, the first edition of Acupuncture and Disease Treatment was published – a reference work for acupuncturists. The book was unique because, for the first time in Danish, it provided acupuncture practitioners and students with a comprehensive, detailed analysis of how to differentiate and treat disease with acupuncture. Since then, the book has become a textbook on Danish acupuncture courses and has found a permanent place in most acupuncture clinics.

In this new, revised edition, the book has been expanded with differentiation and treatment of more than 20 new conditions. The book contains detailed discussions on how to treat over 60 conditions with acupuncture.

The book is published in 2 volumes.
Volume 1 contains sections on differentiation and treatment of: Andrological disorders, dermatological disorders, various disorders, gynecological disorders, as well as lung and heart disorders.

Volume 2 contains sections on differentiation and treatment of: Gastrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, psycho-emotional disorders, urinary tract disorders, as well as ear, nose and throat disorders.

About the author
Nigel Ching is originally from the UK but has been permanently residing in Denmark since 1986. Nigel has been practicing acupuncture since 1990 and has studied with many of Europe's leading experts in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Nigel holds a Master's degree in Chinese herbal medicine from Middlesex University. Nigel has published four books in Danish, two of which have been translated into English and published by Singing Dragon. Nigel is a sought-after lecturer, both in Denmark and abroad. For each condition there is:
» An overview of the Western medical understanding of the condition, as well as how the condition is diagnosed and treated with Western medicine.
» A general discussion of the disease mechanisms seen in a Chinese medical context.
» Differentiation of the relevant imbalance patterns, their etiology, pathology, and diseases.
» Relevant questions that can be asked to the patient to differentiate imbalance patterns, with an explanation of the actions of each point.
» Relevant dietary and lifestyle advice for each imbalance pattern.
