Moxa treatments are part of traditional Chinese medicine, akin to acupuncture, and are estimated to have a history stretching back 4000 years.

The book Acupuncture & Moxa, after being out of print for some years, has been expanded and slightly revised, and re-published. The new revised edition of the book includes, among other things, a major addition called Lilian's pages by acupuncturist Lilian Bengtsen, who, among other things, states that in recent years 2000 new moxa clinics have been established in China, where there seems to be a better understanding of the necessity of the coexistence between millennia-old Chinese medicine and modern, high-tech medicine.
